GLOSSARY / COLLABORATION

Licensed jewelry

In brief

Licensed jewelry is jewelry that features the brands, characters, logos or motifs of a rights holder. The licensor contractually grants the licensee the right to develop and sell such products and usually receives a royalty in return.

Who is involved?

  • Licensor. The rights holder, for example an event organizer, a film or TV studio, or a fashion or sports brand.
  • Licensing agency. Brokers and manages licenses on behalf of the rights holder.
  • Licensee. Develops, produces and distributes the products within the agreed scope.

What makes a good licensed collection

A licensed collection is more than a logo on an existing product. Shapes, motifs, materials and packaging should tell the same story as the brand. It is also crucial whether the target group, price range and occasion for purchase fit the license, for example as a keepsake from an event or as a gift for fans of a character.

How we handle this at Aviano

As a licensee, Aviano takes on the development, production, marketing and distribution of a collection under your license. One example: Aviano holds the official Oktoberfest™ license from the City of Munich for jewelry and watches; under Glanzstücke München, this has resulted in the Wiesn™ Love collection. We are also developing a jewelry collection for the film world of "The School of Magical Animals" ("Die Schule der magischen Tiere"). If, on the other hand, you would like to sell a collection yourself under your own brand, Aviano Studio is the right route.
